American Society Of Women Accountants - ASWA
Categories: Accounting, Banking, Education
Founded by nine women in 1933, the American Women's Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) serves as a source of news, information, education and especially networking opportunities. Through the publication of white papers, the organization has addressed issues important to female accountants such as alternative work schedules, practice development, child care, mentoring, and female management styles.
In 2017, the organization decided to join with the men, and agreed to transfer their name and intellectual property to The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). They will create a task force of former AWSCPA members to continue efforts to develop programming for women in the accounting profession.
