Broad Form Property Damage Endorsement

Categories: Insurance, Real Estate

An extension and enhancement of basic commercial general liability insurance, usually intended to include work done by subcontractors on behalf of property owners.

Gobo wants to build a pool house as an addition to his property, and hires Doozer Corp. to perform the work. Gobo’s existing insurance policy does not protect against damages incurred on the property from his own undertakings. Since Doozer will be working on Gobo’s behalf, a broad form property damage endorsement should be taken out by Gobo to protect against Doozer’s workers accidentally eating, scratching, or otherwise damaging Gobo’s existing house structure.
