Cult Stock

A cult stock is one that has a large investor following, even though the stock might be overvalued or have a relatively smaller market cap than all of the attention would normally warrant. People will continue to invest in the stock believing the company has large future potential for growth.

Examples include Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Shake Shack, and Tesla.
