Hacktivism
The Greenpeace site was hacked! Hackers broke into their website, edited their messaging and, well, let's just say that sperm whales will never again be perceived so...simply.
Hacktivism is the zealot-laden collective activity of computer hackers, believing that they are Doing Good in collectively hacking into opponents'-view websites and...changing them. Like...changing their font from red to green is a start. But then hacktivists also copy mailing lists, send out fake statements from the hack-ee and do all kinds of other trouble-causing things in the name of their cause.
And yes, the winner in the anti-Save the Whales campaign had to have been the new headline that they don't, in fact, come easy.
