Keidanren

It sounds like a brand of craft beer that your friend with the long beard and the top knot really, really likes to talk about. But in this case, it's actually part of a Japanese trade organization.
Keidanren was established in 1946 and eventually absorbed a similar organization, Nikkeiren. Together, the two are now also known as the Japan Business Federation.
The group represents a central economic organization representing nearly 1,400 companies, as well as more than 100 national industrial associations. Keidanren (or, if you prefer, the Japan Business Federation) promotes economic development in Japan.
