BRIC is like a superteam, but one consisting of up and coming superheroes, not the established stars. Not the Justice League, but something like "Young Justice Leaguers of Tomorrow."
The letters in BRIC stand for Brazil, Russia, India, and China. The countries don't have a lot specifically in common, but they are all large countries with significant economic potential. So they get grouped together as the cream of the developing nations.
The BRIC index tracks potential investments in this group. It represents a basket of stocks from one of the four countries.
