Tax Fairness
Well doesn’t that sound paradoxical?! Jk, jk. “Tax fairness” is about being fair with taxes. No one group of taxpayers should get tax benefits that others don’t.
Now, what’s “fair” in taxes is different in different people’s minds (depends how much money they have, among other factors). But in general, those preaching tax fairness believe that “fair” means the ability to pay. That means people with not a lot to spare will pay less, and people rolling in dough would pay more, since we’re focusing on basic living as the bar for “fair.”
Tax fairness usually also means closing all those loopholes that allow certain (wealthier) individuals and corporations to avoid paying taxes. It takes money to make money, and also to avoid taxes via loopholes, if you try!
