The Clark Medal
Categories: Education
More formally known as the John Bates Clark Medal, the Clark Medal is awarded to an economist under 40 by the American Economic Association (AEA) every year. It was awarded every other year from 1947 to 2007, but has been awarded annually since ‘09.
The Clark Medal is no joke. 12 Clark Medal recipients later went on to win the Nobel prize in economics (no big deal). Some names you might know include Milton Friedman, Paul Krugman, and Gary Becker. Like we said: no. big. deal. If you’re interested in the economics field, it’s time to bathe yourself in everything AEA for starters.
