It happens all the time in normal business process. And on golf courses. And in frat houses on weekends, albeit less often. But the normal business flavor is something like Ford needing to produce cars and getting tires from Goodyear...and windshield wipers from A.C. Delco. All three players need to come together, or the cars aren't sellable.
A lot of three-ways have more egalitarian forms of contribution; airplane makers have complex systems that need to be integrated. Roads...the same. Train haulers...same. Three.
