World Bank Group
The World Bank Group (WBG) is a family of five international organizations that provide development loans to the rest of the world. It’s the largest development bank in the world. The Godfather of the world, so to speak, except nicer. They've given loans to try to help countries with issues like poverty, health, agriculture, and education since late 1945. It’s based in Washington D.C., and hangs out with the U.N.
This includes The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), The International Development Association (IDA), The International Finance Corporation (IFC), The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Their latest goal is to end extreme poverty by 2030, and increase the income of the lowest 40% of earners around the world.
Anyone betting they'll do this? We have a bridge in Florida to sell ya...
