The Greeks aren't the only ones with stories of heroes being abandoned as children. Heracles' story actually reminds us of the story of Moses, who according to Judeo-Christian tradition was abandoned by his mother in order to protect him from the murderous Egyptian Pharaoh who'd ordered the death of all male Hebrew babies. Just like Heracles, Moses survived and went on to be one of the greatest heroes and leaders of his people.
