Celia Timeline and Summary

(Be careful: our timeline is in chronological order based on Celia's life, not on the events in the book.)
Celia is captured by the Farm Patrol when she tries to get into the United States.
It turns out she's from the same village as El Patrón in Aztlán (or Mexico), so El Patrón decides to spare her life and makes her his cook.
Celia is basically a slave in Opium, though she's not an eejit.
Later, Celia is given Matt and raises him as her son. She tries to protect Matt as best she can.
When Matt is discovered, Celia and Matt move into the Big House together.
Celia continues to raise Matt and forms a bond with Tam Lin. She and Tam Lin make plans to save Matt from El Patrón.
Celia later starts to poison Matt in order to damage his organs just enough to make a transplant impossible.
When El Patrón tries to kill Matt, Celia reveals what she's done.
El Patrón orders Celia to be turned into an eejit, but Tam Lin smuggles her into the stables and has Celia just pretend to be an eejit.
Celia isn't at El Patrón's wake and isn't killed with the rest of the Alacráns, who drink the poisoned wine.
Celia remains in Opium while it is on lockdown.
Matt finally returns and Celia tells him what happened. She breaks the news of Tam Lin's death to Matt.
