Symbolism, Imagery, Allegory
Feathers are a common image throughout Orlando. We know Orlando’s always loved collecting wild bird feathers, and she follows some feathers right before she declares her love and marriage to nature. Feathers, therefore, are intimately tied to Orlando’s love of nature—and if you're really feeling fancy, you could also connect them to the "wild goose" of literary inspiration that Orlando sees in her stream of consciousness as the novel concludes.
