Monday, the Fifth Day
- Mr. B headed out early this morning to visit Mr. Carlton, a dying man with whom Mr. B has business dealings. Mr. B hoped to offer the family some comfort, as Mr. Carlton's death would leave them even more indebted to Mr. B.
- As of 10 o'clock that night, Pamela reports, he hasn't returned.
- Pamela had dinner with Mrs. Jewkes, who's really taken the 180 degree turn in terms of her behavior (91.4).
