Character Analysis
After a brief shout-out in Basil's litany of ruined lives, we get to meet Adrian Singleton in the flesh… if you can even call it that. It turns out that the terrible end Dorian damned him to was life as a addict in a opium den. Adrian is truly a pathetic character, and even Dorian takes pity on him; before he flees the scene, Dorian reminds his former friend to call if he ever needs anything.
Adrian listlessly agrees, but we can tell that he's not planning on doing anything to help himself anytime soon. He's yet another example of Dorian's malignant influence on just about everyone he meets.
