Character Role Analysis
Mrs. de Winter
Rebecca is Mrs. de Winter's story, and she's her own star. She's also very likeable in many ways: she's characterized by her kindness, her lack of snobbery, and her refusal to order the staff around. The fact that she stands by her husband when she learns he murders his wife will be seen differently by every reader. But no matter how you look at it, this is her story.
