Mark Watney would give anything to be able to click his heels three times and get transported back home. Unfortunately for him, he's not in Oz—he's on Mars. After a sudden disaster cuts his mission short, Mark is left for dead while his comrades begin the perilous journey back to Earth.
Though he remains on the red planet for nearly two years, he never forgets about his home, using his memories as motivation to keep fighting. Sometimes, however, these memories become a burden, reminding him of all that he's lost. But if he's going to emerge from the other end of this ordeal in one piece, he needs something to strive towards. As we all know: there's no place like home.
