- Chap I—Laurie keeps Dr. Manhattan company, and asks him to get rid of Rorschach when he comes to warn them about the Comedian’s murder. She feels cooped up, and calls up Dan Dreiberg for some more “human” companionship.
- Chap II—After being teleported to her mother’s apartment in Southern California, Laurie resents her mom for forgiving Edward Blake’s attempted rape 45 years earlier. Sally accuses her daughter of “sleeping with an H-Bomb.” Can you feel the love tonight?
- Chap III—Laurie finds out Jon is performing experiments even while they’re in bed together. She walks out on him, and seeks out Dan again. He invites her to the Saturday night beer session with Hollis Mason. On the way, some muggers fail to beat up Dan and Laurie. She heads “home” to learn Jon has not only walked out on her, but on the entire planet.
- Chap IV—Through Dr. Manhattan’s flashback, we see the googly-eyes between him and 16 year-old Laurie, much to Janey Slater’s dismay.
- Chap V—At the Gunga Diner, Dan invites Laurie to stay at his place, until things settle down. She agrees.
- Chap VI—MIA, couch surfing at Dreiberg’s
- Chap VII—KEY CHAPTER: Laurie and Dan have an awkward moment. The next night, they put on the old costumes and take Archie out for a spin. They rescue folks from a burning tenement fire. Such romance! Afterward, they decide to break Rorschach out of prison.
- Chap VIII—Laurie doubts Dan’s conspiracy theories. Once they’ve saved Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan returns to whisk Laurie away to Mars for her big moment.
- Chap IX—KEY CHAPTER: Laurie looks back at her 35 years, and comes to realize it’s all been a waste. Not only that, but the Comedian, the man she’s grown up to hate, is actually her father. Somehow, she compels Dr. Manhattan to give Earth another chance.
- Chap X & XI—MIA, flying back from Mars
- Chap XII—In Karnak, Laurie tries to shoot Adrian Veidt and fails. Along with Jon and Dan, Laurie agrees to keep the secret. A month and a half later, on Christmas, she and Dan visit her mom, and they bury the hatchet re: the Comedian being her father. All’s well that ends well.
