People are always going to need cars. Whether it's a gas car, hybrid, or flying—they're here to stay because we are busy people who need to get places. So far these speeding heaps of metal are the best we've got. More people are buying cars every day, and as companies start to produce cars with a longer lifespans, we're going to need more qualified mechanics making repairs on a regular basis.

Cars are here to stay, but the technology inside them changes every year. You've gotta stay relevant. You need the training in hybrid cars and electric cars (not to mention cars than run on garbage) in order to be useful when the future hits us like a ton of bricks (source).
