20-Year Prospect
As we said at the outset, throwing rocking shindigs is part of the core of American life. Unless we suddenly become nuns and monks and spend every day trying to be more pious than the day before, we'll want to shove mini burgers into our mouths while dancing in a line for decades to come.
For a sign of how lucrative things will be, just look at the world of wedding planning and events. Some two million couples get hitched in the United States every year (source). Not only do couples shell out an average of sixty-six bucks per person to feed their guests at the reception; caterers get the chance to cash in on everything from the rehearsal dinner to the wedding favors.
And weddings aren't the only source of revenue for a savvy caterer. The U.S. catering industry was worth about forty-five billion dollars in 2013. In other words, so long as people hold events that they don't want to do all the cooking for, you'll always have a space at their table.
No chair, though. You don't have time to sit; you're working.
