Qualifications
Managing a product's journey from plastic mold to grocery store bauble dispenser isn't exactly high science, but it does take skill. And yes, you have to learn it somewhere. While you might be able to slide in with a two-year degree under your belt, you probably want a full-on bachelor's to make sure you're competitive.
If you want to land jobs with the big boys (we've heard petroleum, natural gas, and oil are sort of profitable these days), you should really consider going the extra extra mile and bagging an optional certification. The International Society of Logistics offers one, as does the slightly more patriotic-sounding American Society of Transportation and Logistics.
Both of them require you to ace an exam before walking out with their seal of approval, giving any potential employer you've been eyeing more reason to trust that you're good at what you do before writing the offer letter.
