If you can get in and work hard to build up your franchise, odds of hanging on are good.
You'll need good people skills to manage your staff, practical accounting skills to keep the money flowing in the right direction, and the mad skills necessary to present great food with great customer service if you want to keep your franchise thriving (source).
If one franchise does well, you might want to expand and buy more franchises, which could make you a fortune.
But it's a real gamble. What's popular today could be wiped out tomorrow by a competitor. You just never know.
