Glory
There's a legitimate chance, however remote, to save the day in this job, so you certainly have a shot at some honest-to-goodness glory coming your way. But keep things in perspective: how many police officers are there and how often do you hear of one heroically fighting through a dozen bad guys, rescuing the damsel in distress (or dude-sel in distress—let's not discriminate), and breaking up an infamous crime ring that has plagued the city for years?
About once every never, that's how often. And yet we know the guys and gals wearing blue are doing their jobs every day. Some things, you don't do for glory. Security guard is probably one of them.
