Reading: Informational Text—Grade 4

We're digging deeper into informational texts this year. Deeper level understanding a.k.a. stretchin' the noggin' a bit is expected, but you best believe they are ready for it.

This year, standards expand to dig into historical and scientific concepts, they encourage opportunities to learn new words, and they ask students to analyze smaller bits of text as part of a larger context. The meat of textual support is what your kids will be eatin' for breakfast.

In general, these ten standards go right to the heart of understanding nonfiction works. Additionally, they'll encourage them to read information, learn it, and incorporate it into their daily thinking and learning. 

 It's a win-win-win.
