Amélie

Amélie is our protagonist. Her name is on the DVD box and the thumbnail image on Netflix, so she has to be. We literally see her being born right before the film's opening credits. That right there makes you invested in her well-being. She grows up before our eyes quickly, like children do, and before we know it, we're immersed in the fateful month of September 1997, which changes her life forever. And even though we've only been watching the movie for about 15 minutes, it feels like thirty years (in a good way) so we really want her to succeed.
