All the Twi-hards out there may be familiar with Amun as a minor character in the Twilight books. For those (few) who haven't read them: In the books, he's Egyptian, he's the leader of his crew, and he's like 2,500 years old. Also, spoiler: he's a vampire. There are vampires in Twilight.
The Dagger of Amon-Ra is an 8-bit computer game released way back in the early 1990s. It's a murder mystery that takes place in a museum, and revolves around the theft of the dagger of Amon-Ra. It's an especially rad game because the main character is a super cool, smart female journalist.
An asteroid by the name of 3554 Amun made a buzz in the news when a supergroup of ambitious people, including James Cameron (the guy who made Titanic and Avatar), started a company called Planetary Resources to mine the asteroid. It's full of things like platinum, iron, and cobalt, and is estimated to be worth $20,000,000,000,000. That's a lot of bling. (Source.)
There are two animals Amun has been associated with: the goose and the ram. As a shout-out to Amun's animal pals, neurologists named a part of our brains the "The Horn of Amun" (Cornu Ammonis). It's shaped like a little ram's horn. If you happen to have an MRI machine lying around, you can find yours in the hippocampus. Otherwise, here's a picture. (Source.)
At least two different bands have named themselves after Amun-Ra. One is a hardcore metal band from Wisconsin, and the other is kinda indie-rock-meets-Enya.
Like Bejeweled? There's a puzzle game called "Luxor: Amun Rising" that might be right up your alley.
There's a non-profit theater in Nashville, TN named after our dude. It was founded in 2001 and takes its mission pretty literally from Amun Ra's name. Their goal is all about tapping into the hidden light of creative theater. (Source.)
