Quote #10
Now Zelophehad son of Hepher son of Gilead son of Machir son of Manasseh had no sons, but only daughters; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. They came before the priest Eleazar and Joshua son of Nun and the leaders, and said, "The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance along with our male kin." So according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the kinsmen of their father. (NRSV 17:3-4)
But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father. (KJV17:3-4)
A good leader must make good on his promises, something the Israelites are oh-so-quick to remind him of when it comes to dividing the land. Joshua, being an upstanding gent, honors his word. We knew we liked him for a reason.

Even though Moses is long gone and Joshua is about to pass the same way, it's very important to him that the Israelites stay steadfast in their faith. Here, Joshua wraps up some quality leadership with the all-important "stay true to yourself" speech. Well done, sir. Well done.
