Anne Rice, with the help of artist Ashley Marie Witter, adapted Claudia's side of the story into a graphic novel in 2012. It's lush and haunting and sepia toned. Except for the blood, of course.
This is more of a sad fact than a fun fact, but the character of Claudia is based on Anne Rice's real-life daughter, Michelle, who died of leukemia at the age of five in 1972. Perhaps Claudia is Rice's way of keeping her daughter alive forever. (source)
Anne Rice let her own fangs come out when Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were cast as Lestat and Louis in the 1994 film adaptation of the novel. But after seeing the movie, she fell under their spell and changed her mind.
