Cosette and Marius

The romance between Cosette and Marius dominates the last third of this book, and our protagonist Jean Valjean takes a backseat to the struggles and triumphs of this young couple. In the end, Valjean steps back from the action so that Marius and Cosette can live in peace, free from the taint of his criminal past.

But don't worry, they all reunite and profess their love for one another when Valjean's on his deathbed.
