Character Role Analysis
Dorian Gray
Dorian, Dorian, Dorian—gosh, it seems like all we ever hear about in this novel is Dorian Gray. Everyone is fascinated with him (including himself), and for good reason, too.
He's a compelling, intriguing, seductive, mysterious, thrilling, and horrendous character, and, like everyone else in this book, including the narrator, we can't take our figurative eyes off of him. He goes from hero to antihero in the span of about fifty pages, and from this rapid transformation, we're hooked —we've got to know what his fate is.
