Quote #4
WOODY: Oh, come on, Buzz. I can't do this without you. I need your help.
BUZZ: I can't help. I can't help anyone.
WOODY: Why, sure you can, Buzz. You can get me out of here and then I'll get that rocket off you, and we'll make a break for Andy's House.
Yes, Woody wants to escape from Sid's bedroom, but he really does need Buzz. And we get the feeling this isn't totally for selfish reasons. Woody's not just pretending to be a friend here. He's starting to really feel for this spaceman.
Quote #5
WOODY: Listen Buzz, forget about me. You should get outta here while you can… Buzz! What are you doing? I thought you were...
BUZZ: Come on, Sheriff. There's a kid in that house who needs us. Now let's get you out of this thing.
And here we go. This is Woody's big turn around. He tells Buzz to make a break for it while he can. Woody will stay and face the music. He realizes that his actions got them in this whole mess. Buzz shouldn't suffer for his mistakes.
Quote #6
WOODY: No, no, no! Wait! Wait! Listen! Please! There's a good toy down there and he's—he's going to be blown to bits in a few minutes all because of me. I've gotta save him! But I need your help. Please. He's my friend. He's the only one I've got.
Okay, so Woody could totally just escape Sid's room and lead his own life, but he refuses to let Buzz stay behind. Why? Friendship, of course. Here he asks for the help of Sid's maimed toys. Maybe he can help these potential friends out, too?
