Sample of Challenges & Opportunities

This story hooks the reader almost instantly and we rush to figure out what in the world is happening, who the mysterious "you" is, and how it all fits together. Then, as if the mystery weren't engaging enough, the story is filled with tons of relationships: parent and child, parent and boyfriend, best friends, new friends, enemies, and the list goes on.

All this combined makes for oodles of divine discussion. You could focus on the mystery: How does the writer create it, how do the pieces fit together, and, once you've finished the story, can you go back and see what you didn't see before? Then again, you could focus on the relationships: What happens between Sal and Miranda, is it possible to be too close, why does Julia do what she does, and how does the love triangle between Miranda, Colin, and Annemarie affect Miranda's actions?
