Thank you We sneak in pride and property Ah la
- 00:06
shmoop pride and property sounds a lot like a lost
- 00:09
jane austen novel Well speaking of jane austen novels booker
- 00:13
t redington is an incredibly avid reader He once read
- 00:18
the sound and the fury cover to cover over breakfast

Well okay maybe he on ly read the covers but
- 00:23
cut him some slack and yeah that's a tough book
- 00:25
Booker loves reading the classics because they highlight the concepts
- 00:28
of romanticism that have always attracted him He loves the
- 00:30
idea that all that deep intangible stuff wins out over
- 00:34
more material concerns Like how ebeneezer scrooge it's counting his
- 00:38
coinage but realizes in the end after a terrifying supernatural
- 00:41
encounter that love kindness and generosity are where it's really
- 00:44
at Well yeah that stuff is terrific but what booker
- 00:47
doesn't realize is that how one treats one's own property
- 00:50
reflects on that person in a totally not shallow way
- 00:54
for example because booker demonstrates a complete disregard for all
- 00:58
items Physical bedroom is a disaster area anyone who's ever
- 01:02
come over and see It has been appalled and terrified
- 01:04
and it's immediately drawn away from booker it's not because
- 01:07
they're superficial folks who could only be friends with clean
- 01:09
rooms people booker's room exhibits a lack of organization and
- 01:13
cleanliness and propriety and a lack of concern about the
- 01:16
idea that someone might trip over his underwear pile and
- 01:19
bump their head on the desk Olle pretty valid points
- 01:23
plus you should see booker's books dogeared like crazy covers
- 01:26
and pages bent and wrinkled water damaged And what is
- 01:30
that smell coming from them Maybe we'd rather not know
- 01:33
Well those who know about booker's love of books are
- 01:35
understandably confused What kind of respect is that Show the
- 01:38
object of one's affection He wouldn't treat a significant other
- 01:41
that way would he Would he Well maybe he would
- 01:44
could be a while before booker goes to a high
- 01:46
school dance and then there's the issue of voters Clothing
- 01:49
hasn't done laundry since Well okay ever his mom does
- 01:52
the honors occasionally but she's been trying to take a
- 01:55
hands off approach lately so booker learns his lesson hasn't
- 01:58
exactly been working so he stinks to high heaven even
- 02:02
higher Maybe people avoid coming anywhere near him and that
- 02:04
makes it awfully hard to make friends and or pursue
- 02:06
Any sort of romantic engagements and again can you blame
- 02:10
him No one wants to spend time with a human
- 02:12
being who forces them to come equipped with clothes pins
- 02:15
Hopefully booker will read a book one day on a
- 02:17
personal hygiene or how to take responsibility for one's belongings
- 02:22
or howto identify mold well In the meantime though until
- 02:25
he figures out the importance of taking pride in his
- 02:27
own properties probably gonna have a rough time of it 00:02:29.642 --> [endTime] You can ask anna karina to homecoming
