Fame

Your face isn't going to be in any magazines—or is it? For those butchers who are true innovators in their field, an occasional interview or invitation to teach a workshop might be in the cards. However, there are many talented butchers who aren't gaining any fame from their work.

For the most part, butchers are only famous in the eyes of the locals who rely on them to keep their families fed. If you're working in a meat processing plant, you're not even getting that level of fame. Like most food industry jobs, butchery is a humble and unassuming field that deserves a great deal more recognition than it receives.

Those who aspire to don the coveted apron should be fine with not hearing a "thank you" some days, let alone getting famous. If you really love what you're doing, though, you won't need a "thank you" to be satisfied.
