Odds of Getting In
The odds of getting in are pretty good as long as you don't fall for a fraudulent certification program. Being serious about this career will up your chances for success. Those who just want to get discounts on their own personal travel won't make good travel agents. They may just want to look into extreme couponing.
It's not as easy as just researching travel deals on the Internet. When travel agents take their jobs seriously, it benefits their customers and improves the quality of their vacations. You wouldn't want to buy a car from a flippant sales person any more than you would want to buy a vacation from someone who could care less whether you're scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef or diving for dollars after getting some poor information about the currency exchange rate.
