Percents, decimals, and fractions all represent parts of a whole, so we can totally convert between 'em. First on the agenda is converting decimals to percents.
Here we see seven tenths, or 0.7. If we divide each of those tenths into ten parts, we get seventy hundredths. Since all percents are out of 100, this is 70%.
This conversion is super easy. All we really need to do is multiply the decimal by 100. Multiplying by 100 is the same as moving the decimal to the right two place values. So, to turn a decimal into a percent, just move the decimal point two places to the right.
For example, to convert the decimal 0.3 into a percentage, we slide that decimal point two spots to the right.
Yup, the decimal 0.3 is the same thing as 30%.
Here are a few more quick examples.
0.75 = 75%
0.367 = 36.7%
4.26 = 426%
2 = 200%
